Patient who has heaviness / pain in chest, radiating to arm. back or sometimes pain only in jaw or abdomen and not in chest associated with sweating. nausea or vomiting.
Heart attack occurs due to blockage of blood vessels which supply blood to heart.
We take ECG of patient and give
them medicines to decrease pain and
start blood thinners. If ECG show
significant changes, then we do
angiography of the patient to check
blockage in blood vessels of heart.
If blockage is found in angiography, then the treatment depends the amount of blockage and how many arteries are blocked. This helps to decide between angioplasty or bypass surgery.
